National Women's Health Week was a busy one for Institute staff!  Highlights included a proclamation from Governor Pat Quinn that encourages women to join the Illinois Women's Health Registry.  On May 14, we hosted an extended monthly forum in Chicago that featured a lecture from Northwestern nutritionist Holly Herrington, exhibits of Northwestern Medicine women-friendly services and posters of ongoing research in women's health. Over 300 were in attendance including many of of our Leadership Council members. Lecture notes and the presentation from the forum are now available! Immediately after the forum, Institute director Teresa Woodruff and staff members Sharon Green and Nadia Johson headed to the Springfield, IL to meet with members of the Governor's cabinet and staff to discuss ways the Institute can help with the roll out of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The next day a breakfast hosted by Sen. Jackie Collins and Rep. Robyn Gabel was held in Lt. Governor Sheila Simon's office, followed by a press conference in the state Capitol.
